A look back at one of our favorite custom photo installations: an activation at the World Basketball Festival 2012 in Washington DC that invited guests to “Be Like Mike” and imitate the iconic Jordan logo over the city of Chicago. Here is the problem: there is and will only be one Michael Jordan. Enter the magic of several custom programs and some sharp photography and voila! Vertical skills were not necessary to make a great image, as guests tried on shoes, stretched out a bit and then took off! Jumpers were given instant prints, digital files for social media sharing, and were displayed on a rotating media wall with current and past icons of basketball. The trick was making it fast, user friendly, and to turn around great images instantly. Lines were never too long and moved swiftly – our specialty!

The weekend was star studded – as the USA men’s and women’s squads took the floor for a pre-Olympic scrimmage, which drew an array of basketball legends into the building to watch, including Patrick Ewing, who hung out with us for a few minutes. Before the men’s scrimmage, the carpeted area in front of our activation was ideal for a pre-game stretch for the entire USA Olympic Basketball team including Lebron, Kobe and Kevin Durant.
